Luke (he/him) joined the IVR as a Research Scientist in 2013 and is currently a Research Assistant Professor. He attained his bachelors in bioengineering from the University of Illinois and his Ph.D. in Physiology from Southern Illinois University. Dr. Wiley entered the field of scientific research because of a strong desire to contribute to larger and meaningful research on inherited diseases. His focus within the IVR is on development and characterization of models of inherited retinal degeneration and assessment of the efficacy of gene and stem cell based therapies.
