Nate is one of the IVR’s graduate students, and a member of the MSTP program at the University of Iowa. He relocated to Iowa in 2016 after completing his BA at Case Western Reserve University, worked with the IVR in 2018, and officially joined the IVR in 2020. Nate studies how mitochondrial mutations cause retinal disease in hopes that understanding them better will allow us to provide better treatment to patients in the future. He has experience at the Boston Children’s Hospital, and recently presented a poster at the Annual Genetics Program Retreat. Outside of lab he enjoys biking and spending time with friends.
